The six-year wishlist
Marco first tried CAROL Bike six years ago, at an event in London where he met the founder. The concept clicked immediately — but life moved on, and the bike stayed on his wishlist.
When he finally came back to it, the reasons were practical. Two young children at home. No nearby hills for outdoor sprint sessions. No time for the protocols he knew worked, like Norwegian 4×4 intervals.
“Sprints and intervals are essential for balanced fitness and performance,” he says. “But I simply don’t have the time anymore for long protocols.”
The alternatives he tried in the meantime never delivered consistently. Weather, travel time, the mental overhead of getting out the door — each small barrier added up to the same result: skipped sessions.
The surprise wasn't the science
CAROL’s signature REHIT workout solved the logistics. Five minutes, no travel, no setup. But the part Marco didn’t see coming had nothing to do with efficiency.
“What surprised me most is that sprint training became enjoyable.”
That shift matters more than it sounds. Enjoyment isn’t a bonus feature in a fitness routine — it’s the mechanism that turns a workout into a habit. Remove the dread, and the barrier to showing up almost disappears.
“The workouts are short but intense and remove almost all friction: no weather dependency, no travel time, and very low injury risk,” he says. “I just get on the bike and do the work.”
Training with an audience
Marco’s favourite workout is the REHIT Intense — two 20-second sprints that feel minimal but land with real intensity. And because he trains at home, he rarely rides alone.
“With CAROL Bike, I can work out in under 10 minutes, without leaving the house and without losing sight of my kids. Actually, they often stand next to me cheering when I ‘run away from the tiger’.”
Two months in, the consistency is already showing up in his numbers. Sprints feel easier. Power output is improving. His nervous system recovers faster from the stimulus — and he’s optimistic about continued gains in VO₂max.
The equipment that doesn't gather dust
Ask Marco what makes CAROL Bike different from the fitness equipment that ends up unused, and his answer comes back to the same thing: friction.
“It’s surprisingly engaging, and much less likely to end up unused compared to most fitness equipment. Because the resistance adapts intelligently, it also works very well for beginners.”
When training takes five minutes, requires no travel, and adapts automatically to where you are — there’s very little left standing between you and showing up.
“CAROL removed all friction from sprint training for me. Short, intense, effective — and finally sustainable in a busy real life with work and kids.”
