Will my CAROL 1.0 still work after January 1, 2027?
Yes. Your bike keeps working exactly as it does today. What ends on that date is new development for it: no further software updates and no new workouts. Support moves to the knowledge base.
Will I need to keep a subscription for my 1.0?
If you hold a Lifetime Membership, no. There is nothing further to pay and nothing changes for you on January 1, 2027. If you are on a monthly membership, your bike stays active for as long as that membership is active.
If I do not upgrade, will my Lifetime Membership be honored?
Yes. Your Lifetime Membership remains active after January 1, 2027, with no new monthly membership charge. You keep the personalized REHIT workouts, adaptive resistance, your performance data and Fitness Score, and your existing workout library — all the functionality you use today.
The one thing a Lifetime Membership does not change: new workouts and software updates end for every CAROL 1.0 on that date, Lifetime Membership included.
Do any features rely on CAROL's servers, and will those keep running?
Some CAROL 1.0 functionality does talk to our servers. We will continue to support those server functions for CAROL 1.0 after January 1, 2027, so the features that depend on them keep working.
Can I still get spare parts for my 1.0?
Yes, while stock lasts. Replacement parts for CAROL 1.0 are charged separately.
What is the difference between the 1.0 and the current CAROL Bike?
Both run the same REHIT protocol. What changed is the hardware around it.
- Handlebars with five grip positions, so you can change how you ride and stay comfortable.
- A wearable heart rate monitor — more accurate readings, and your hands free while you recover.
- A larger, higher-resolution touchscreen. Sharper and faster to use.
- Two-way app compatibility. CAROL 1.0 could send data out to external devices and run third-party streaming apps. The current bike sends and receives data and commands from apps like Zwift, either on its own screen or on a second screen.
- An integrated bottle holder.
- A redesigned frame that holds its calibration more accurately and is easier to service — and looks considerably better doing it.
Will my Lifetime Membership transfer to my new bike?
Yes. Your Lifetime Membership moves with you. There is no new membership to buy and no monthly charge on the new bike.
It also starts working again in the way it used to: on the current bike your membership keeps receiving the new workouts and software updates that stop for CAROL 1.0 on January 1, 2027.
Do I have to send my CAROL 1.0 back?
No. There is no box, no courier and no collection date. The $800 comes off your new bike and the 1.0 stays with you — keep it in a second room, hand it to family, or sell it on.
